Group del.icio.us?

Has anyone tried using del.icio.us with a group? I was thinking of setting up an account for our secondary librarians group and having everyone post great sites as they come across them. It would have the advantage of listing sites that are really specific to our local curriculum. Usually we just pass sites to each other using email but this would have the advantage of being a searchable and permanent location.

  • I am not sure what you mean about a group. Whenever I teach a web 2.0 workshop in my district I encourage teachers within departments in our high school to establish a common tag -- for example "nameofhighschoolmath" and suggest they share ideas this way. Is there an easier way to do this?
  • You can group bookmarked sites together by bundling tags. It's easy to use, you just give your 'bundle' a name and then select the tag names for sites you want to include. See my example on Digital Booktalk sites: http://del.icio.us/bookminder/DigTalk . As another example I created a bundle called 'Search' and included any site tagged 'directory' 'search' or 'search engine'.
  • Any thoughts on organizing del.icio.us? I used to use IKeepBookmarks and I like the way I could make folders for subject areas. Any thoughts on this? I like your idea of a group account.
