About Me:

Ms. Eugenia McAllister formerly served as a Faculty and Reference Librarian at Augusta Technical College where she conducted Reference and Information Literacy Services and Technology Workshops. Her research interests include library management and research methodologies relative to today's postsecondary education environment. The workshops are related to contemporary library and information technology. In addition, she investigates retention factors and attendance rates associated with the African America Male in transition from high school to the college academic environment. She is currently writing the article New Library: Becoming a Significant Factor in Academic Reinforcement. Ms. McAllister is the past digital author of In-Flow: Information Literacy Talk Show for WSSB.90.3 FM radio South Carolina State University. Presently, she host her own radio show: The Stacks: Flowing Through the Stacks; on BLOG Talk radio. Ms. McAllister has also served in appointed positions as an Evaluator for Library and Learning Resources for the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools, and the Augusta Technical College Campus Wide Technology Committee. Ms. McAllister is the newest member of the Board of Directors for the Savannah River Site (SRS) Heritage Foundation. Previously, she served on the Bill and Melinda Gates Initiative, Achieving the Dream Institutions Literature Review Committee for Augusta Technical College and on the committee for various institutional grants. Earlier, she served as a STEM consultant to Paine College and then worked part-time at the Collins-Callaway Library & Learning Resources Center in 2012 Ms. McAllister was the administrative support staff person for the USAID Africa Textbook Learning Material Program, College of Education at South Carolina State University, under the former University President. She was also an instructor for Senior Adult for the Carnegie Library of Homestead. In this role, she designed, implemented, coordinated, and assessed the library instruction program while employed with the Allegheny Library System in Pittsburgh, PA. Ms. McAllister studied at the University of Pittsburgh in 2006 and returned in 2010 to complete her Master Degree in Library and Information Science with an emphasis on Social Anthropology Research. In the summer of 2014, she continued her studies in the Leadership Institute for Academic Librarians at Harvard University. Finally, she believes in the forces of one’s positive, constructive, and persuasive abilities as an effective management tool to motivate and inspire others
