Our library wants to host an ugly sweater event in the library. We're just not sure how to either tie it in to an instructional/reading incentive, or even use it as a fundraiser.
Do high school students even appreciate Ugly Sweaters? Or is it something they're not familiar with?

In my opinion, American Eagle seems to be making a comeback with "ugly" sweaters. Don't teens shop there? Otherwise show them an episode of the Cosby Show. Alternatively you could also have an ugly Christmas sweater fundraiser. I male student teacher last year wore a peach ladies turtle neck sweater and put a peel and stick mirrored snowman from the dollar store on the front.
