Hi - I am looking for a way to offer audio books in our high school library, and am wondering what other libraries have done. I would like to give the students who need the audios the option of choosing their titles. We don't own any ipod/ipads, or ereaders (yet!). Any ideas??

Hi Melinda,
I just came on here looking for the same information! I have a similar situation. I would like to have audiobooks available for works that are in the curriculum. We also do not have ipods, ipads, ereaders, etc. or even a BYO technology policy!
All of the services out there are a little daunting and I don't know how cost-effective or user-friendly they'd really be. I'd love to be able to buy titles a la cart and have them accessible through my catalog rather than another database-type interface.
Advances in AV technology can be tricky stuff for schools and libraries, to say the least!
Anyway, I can't help you just yet, but you are definitely not alone...
