Opening – Lower School Librarian and Technology Coordinator
The North Shore Country Day School seeks a candidate for its Lower School Librarian and Technology Coordinator position for the 2007-2008 academic year. This candidate would be responsible for the following:
1. Teach the Information Literacy and Technology Curriculum for students in Kindergarten through Fifth Grade. The curriculum covers:
o Researching skills, both print and online, including:
catalog searching,
database searching
Internet searching,
o Basic Computer Skills
Computer and Network functions
Keyboarding
Word Processing
Database
Presentation
Drawing Programs
Digital Storytelling, including digital film making
o Love of Literature
Storytelling
Arranging visiting authors
2. Collaborating with Classroom teachers
o Develop lesson plans that are integrated with classroom unit objectives
o Select and gather materials for use by students and teachers in the classroom
o Identifying technical support issues for IT staff
3. Purchasing materials, books and software, for library and technology use
