Greetings Becky,

I'm Mike McQueen, teacher librarian and founder of Like many school districts, we are in a financial crises. Our school board recently proposed to eliminate ALL 20+ middle school teacher librarians and also cut all 90+ elementary schools to half time. Since we are the biggest district in all of Colorado, we worry this will cause other districts to follow suit. We launched an online movement and are going to do our best to put up a good fight. If possible, please visit our Facebook page and "Like" us . Adding a positive comment and sharing with your friends would help our morale as well. The board finalizes the budget soon so your timely support would be greatly appreciated!

Hi Becky,
Well I think people are feeling like school is right around the corner. I know this did not quite work out the way we had hoped but I think the experience was well worth it. I am so glad i got involved with this Ning for one. I have joined another group in the ning and feel like my PLN is growing in good directions. I also think whenever you get school librarians talking to each other it is a good thing. Plus we got to know each other a bit and now the next time it will be that much easier.

I'm sure I could do that. I know there are other free programs that allow limited animation but I have been working with Vegas Video for awhile now and it enables me to add those other touches like movement, background, sounds and music. It's all in the editing!

I use several programs to get the look of my Glog book reviews. The primary program you need is Crazy Talk. It really does a great job of animation even if you don't do anything else with the video. The kids actually draw the character that represents them in the review. I use Vegas video to edit and Photoshop to cut out various objects. Put it all together in Vegas and you have an animated book review! Try looking at Crazy Talk first.

Sounds great. I emailed another person. I am out of the office tomorrow and Friday but I'll have my laptop.
