Looking for American Civil War "experts" for blogging project

My 8th grade Honors students are blogging about the research process regarding the American Civil War and we are looking for "experts" to help with the discussion. The "experts" can be other 8th grade students, high school students, or teachers.  We are looking for ideas to get this project off the ground. Any suggestions are appreciated. Thanks in advance.See More

5th Grade Books for Middle School Media Center

My current Middle School Media Center services grades 6 - 8.  Next year, the 5th grade is moving to my building. I've haven't worked with 5th grade for many years.  Are there any "must have" novels, non-fiction and databases I should be adding to my collection?  Thank you.

Greetings Janice,

I'm Mike McQueen, teacher librarian and founder of http://www.GettingBoysToRead.com. Like many school districts, we are in a financial crises. Our school board recently proposed to eliminate ALL 20+ middle school teacher librarians and also cut all 90+ elementary schools to half time. Since we are the biggest district in all of Colorado, we worry this will cause other districts to follow suit. We launched an online movement and are going to do our best to put up a good fight. If possible, please visit our Facebook page and "Like" us http://www.facebook.com/SupportSchoolLibraries . Adding a positive comment and sharing with your friends would help our morale as well. The board finalizes the budget soon so your timely support would be greatly appreciated!

Sincerely,

Mike McQueen
