  • Greetings Kathryn,

I'm Mike McQueen, teacher librarian and founder of http://www.GettingBoysToRead.com. Like many school districts, we are in a financial crises. Our school board recently proposed to eliminate ALL 20+ middle school teacher librarians and also cut all 90+ elementary schools to half time. Since we are the biggest district in all of Colorado, we worry this will cause other districts to follow suit. We launched an online movement and are going to do our best to put up a good fight.

If possible, please visit our Facebook page and "Like" us http://www.facebook.com/SupportSchoolLibraries . Adding a positive comment and sharing with your friends would help our morale as well. The board finalizes the budget soon so your timely support would be greatly appreciated!

    Sincerely,

    Mike McQueen

  • Oh, and so cool about Zusak! That must have been really neat. I love the Book Thief. Wow!
  • What's a poem in your pocket mean? Maybe I should get a forum going for Poetry ideas--you could share if for everyone there. And will you give one poem reading or many? All I have is a bulletin board as of yet. I need to beef it up a bit more though.

  • Hi Kathryn-

I am new to the TL Ning- I saw your name and it was familiar... not sure where our paths have crossed before. I am currently at the International School Yangon but was previously in Joburg, Islamabad, Rabat and Addis Ababa...

Anyway- it's nice to see other international school librarian faces out there. Looking forward to sharing ideas!

  • Welcome! It's so nice to see a picture of you;) I'll let you know when I've figured out how to make a group.

    Besos,
