We have 40 minutes for students spend their time at the library. They'll come with their homeroom (about 30 students). Any idea what they're going to do beside check in books?

I am using a template I found online and with 3,4,5 we will play Almanac Jeopardy using the LCD projector. There is also a book I love using called The Mysteries of Research by Sharron Cohen. It uses almanac, encycloped, atlas to solve "mysteries or crimes". K-2 it is so hard to keep them busy for 40 minutes. K, we are reading books about Ocean Animals which they are studying in their classroom. I let them use magnifyers to examine ocean treasures I brought back from the beach. I have two huge new book orders that have not been shelved. I put these on tables and the classes have about 5 minutes to peruse, examine, enjoy the books and then we move to another table. With 3-5 I set it up like a restaurant and call it the book buffet.
